toasted marshmellow milkshake

I just have to share this fat kid moment I had today. I went to Stand at Union Square and ordered the best shake I've ever had! There are actual marshmallows (toasted just so) blended in, and then they put two more plus lots of whipped cream on top. Amazing. Rumor has it they make their marshmallows themselves. I don't know if that's true. I just know that the whole thing actually tastes like a toasted marshmallow, in a very thick and indulgent way, and I love it. They also had some other funny flavors (honey-lavender chocolate and pistachio ricotta) but I don't think it could get better than this. Do you?

fascinating

Artist Edgar Mueller uses the anamorphic painting technique to create 3D sidewalk art. When viewed from exactly the right angle, there is an illusion of depth. "Use your eyes" pictured above was done in 5 days in Germany.

Watch this video below to see exactly how "Crevasse" was made (August 21-24, 2008 in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland). It really is fascinating. More here.

a plant for your cell phone?

The world's smallest vegetable garden. You have to admit it's very cute. I would wear it as a pendant instead of on my phone. This is what they say:
Attach a green capsule to your cell phone so that you can be with your baby all the day. There are 4 kinds of vegetable seed in a kit. Tomato, sweet basil, green pepper and cabbage. Soil is for 20 times use. Plant many kinds of vegetable in a capsule.

In ancient Mesopotamia...

Maira Kalman's "May it Please the Court" was in Nytimes the other day, and I thinks its incredibly well done. Here's the full story.

torno

Once upon a time I lived in a beautiful northern Italian village called Torno, for a whole month! During the week I worked at a textile mill near Como, and on the weekends, I went across the lake and sat around the floating pool. Prosecco and aperol, bresaola, and arugula and corn salads...Oh, vacations...

interiors

I love this house featured on design sponge today. What a nice selection of artwork and colors.

I saw this dream bedroom here, wouldn't it be genius to sleep outdoors while still indoors.

Clever things

I'm procrastinating studying chem. and decided to share some lovely things. I'm going to make these posts more regular.
This whole series of photographs by Jan von Holleben is amazing. Via you are my fave.

Who knew tape could be so pretty. Available here via The Morale Agency.

I like this idea of stringing beads onto power cords. I wonder if it's possible to make my own. Via fp blog.

Seriously?

This is the view from my apartment right now. I don't think it's a joke. And in case you cannot tell, that is a golden butt with a buttcrack in "proctology."
